Q’s Trio: Jazz meets the east

Q’s Trio is a Netherlands-based ensemble led by flutist, vocalist, and composer Q, blending the vibrant energy of jazz with the rich traditions of her Chinese heritage. Alongside Tijs Klassen on double bass and Nitin Parreé on drums, the trio crafts a unique soundscape where intricate jazz improvisation meets the evocative melodies and rhythms of Asian music.

Driven by a deep love for storytelling, Qisheng’s original compositions draw inspiration from traditional folk tales, Asian spiritual beliefs, and her own life experiences. Based in the Netherlands, Q’s Trio is dedicated to sharing their cross-cultural fusion with the world, inviting audiences to explore the beauty of cultural connection through music.
