Born in China, now rooted in the Netherlands, Qis a jazz flutist, vocalist, and composer whose music is as fluid and layered as her journey. Leading her “Q-tet”, she creates a sound world where East meets West, where folk traditions meet modern jazz, and where stories unfold through melody, rhythm, and silence.
Her music cannot be neatly described, it must be felt, just as a life cannot be fully understood until it is truly heard. Q blends spoken word, poetry, painting, and improvisation into her compositions, drawing from her Chinese heritage and personal philosophies. Every piece carries a part of her voice, her values, her questions.
The Q-tet brings Q’s compositions to life, while allowing space for each musician’s own narrative to shine. They believe music is not just sound, but a way to connect, to inspire, and to move. Through each note, Q shares her passion, her honesty, and her deep desire to offer something real to the listener. Her music is both a mirror and a journey, for herself, and for those who choose to listen.
